Area Board Vote To Keep Sorting Office and Post Office

Following a request from Cllr Jon Hubbard, the Melksham Area Board has voted to write to the Royal Mail and Post Office Counters Ltd regarding the future of Melksham's Sorting Office and Post Office.

At the meeting held at Melksham Oak Community School the Area Board unaminously supported Cllr Hubbard's call for Wiltshire Council to ask the Post Office and Royal Mail to reconsider closing the Sorting Office in Melksham, and to protect the Post Office facilities in the town.

Following Jon's call, the Area Board will also ask the council's economic development team to look at the impact to the town and work to minimise the impact to the town.
